Solidity Developer

Overview

Kairos Protocol is seeking a Solidity Developer to own core smart contract development for our decentralized interest rate swap protocol. You'll be responsible for protocol architecture, gas optimization, and security—building the foundation that enables traders and LPs to exchange fixed and floating rate exposure on-chain.

This is a remote role creating infrastructure for interest rate markets in DeFi. The contracts you write will handle real capital and complex financial logic, so precision and security mindset are non-negotiable.

Deep experience shipping production Solidity to mainnet is required. Background with DeFi protocols, particularly around derivatives, lending, or AMM design, is a strong plus.

About Kairos

Kairos is a VC-backed startup building a new onchain primitive for interest rate swaps. In traditional markets, interest rate swaps are one of the largest markets globally and serve a fundamental role in unlocking fixed-rate loans, fixed-rate yield, and trading on rate movements. Fresh out of the Alliance accelerator, Karios is scaling its team ahead of its full protocol launch in 2026. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing startup on the ground floor and have significant impact in developing the next evolution of DeFi growth.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement core protocol smart contracts for interest rate swap mechanics
• Architect systems for scalability, minimizing gas costs while maintaining composability
• Lead security efforts including threat modeling, internal reviews, and coordination with external auditors
• Build upgrade patterns and admin controls that balance flexibility with decentralization
• Develop integration points for oracles, liquidation systems, and external protocols
• Write comprehensive test suites covering edge cases, invariants, and adversarial scenarios
• Optimize contract efficiency for high-frequency interactions and large position management
• Document contract architecture, trust assumptions, and integration specifications

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Solidity development with production contracts deployed to mainnet
• Strong understanding of EVM internals, gas optimization patterns, and contract security
• Experience with DeFi protocol design—lending, AMMs, derivatives, or similar
• Familiarity with audit processes and common vulnerability patterns
• Proficiency with Foundry or Hardhat, including fuzzing and formal verification tools
• Ability to reason about protocol economics and mechanism design tradeoffs
• Track record of writing clean, well-documented, testable code
• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote, async environment
• Clear communication skills and high accountability - Track record of going above and beyond
